Dr. Sheethal Tom is a distinguished professional in the field of Information Technology, with an extensive background in both academia and industry. 

Her academic journey includes earning a PhD in Information Technology from the Central University of Technology, South Africa, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Amrita University, India, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, India.

Throughout her career, Dr. Tom's primary focus areas in teaching and research have encompassed software development, human-computer interaction (HCI), computer vision, image processing, mobile computing, ICT4D and health informatics. 

Dr. Tom has earned a reputation as an adept supervisor and mentor, guiding postgraduate students in their research endeavors. 

Dr. Tom's journey in academia is complemented by her extensive industry experience as a software developer.
