Brief Bio
With over 10 years of experience in Higher Education, I am dedicated to driving innovation in teaching and learning. Currently serving as an Instructional and Learning Designer at The Independent Institute of Education, I play a pivotal role in shaping impactful learning experiences. My journey began as a Peer Tutor and evolved through roles such as Senior Learning Designer at the University of the Free State (UFS), where I led curriculum design, client relations, and training development in the Faculty of Law.
My academic background includes a work in progress Master of Higher Education and completed a BA Honours in Sociology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, providing a solid foundation for my commitment to student and staff development. I have been actively involved in various student development initiatives at UFS, showcasing my passion for educational technology, tutoring, mentorship, research, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
Beyond my current role, I am also the Digital Intelligence Consultant and Co-Founder of Fomo Enterprise, contributing to entrepreneurial endeavours. Additionally, I serve as a Digital Marketing Consultant at Bhiyoza Publishers, where I leverage my skills to enhance online presence and engagement. An advocate for linguistic diversity, I am an author engaged in creative writing in my mother tongue, IsiZulu. My commitment to excellence has been recognized, earning me the Second Place in Innovative Methods in Student Engagement and Learning at the University of the Free State's Centre for Teaching and Learning awards.
